GET TO KNOW: THE MAN BEHIND HUBRIS

DID YOU ALWAYS KNOW YOU WANTED TO BE AN ARTIST

Eh, its more complicated for me and im not sure the term artist will suffice. Ive always wanted to express myself by any means I could lay my hands on and if my laziness didnt get the best of me I’d usually go for it.

TRAINED OR UNTRAINED? HOW DID YOU FIND YOUR STYLE

When I was younger I used to sneak into my neighbor’s room to take a peek at his drawings, he was really good, so I think that was the first style I adopted, then my dad noticed my flair for art and got me an art teacher but the advent of technology sort of deviated me from the traditional style to digital art but the truth is my style is trapped somewhere in the vast ocean of creativity and its kindda difficult holding on to it. So its really mercurial.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU AREN’T MAKING ART

Oh that’s easy..,Music! I really wish I could make music, I also enjoy taking pictures and contemplating existential subjects.

BIGGEST CHALLENGE MAKING ART

I've always longed for the possibility in creating the ULTIMATE ART, something endless and transcendental, like the universe, so yeah I always try to achieve such in my art.

WHAT IS YOUR INSPIRATION

I am my own inspiration (this is not an attempt to play the Kanye card). I see the entire universe as an extension of me, not just my physical body, so its kindda like a feed back mechanism. Raindrops, decayed leaves, love, pain, stars, street lights, creation ( as im particularly interested in human origins) all these details play their part.

HOW HAS AFRICA INSPIRED YOUR STYLE

Africa is the cradle of civilization,I long to go back in time sometime in the future to relive ancient egypt ,and it has insanely beautiful women too. Indigineous tribes such as the Himba and Morsi really catch my eye too.

WHAT IS YOUR CREATION PROCESS LIKE

I’m very spontaneous, I could go for months without a drop of inspo and then bam! 3:00am in a dream, I get something surreal and I show gratitude by documenting it through creation.

PENCILS OR DIGITAL OR BOTH

Mud, and bones if I get the chance too.
